Khyber Sword with Scabbard - Afghanistan / Pakistan, Khyber tribesman. Large example of the short sword with scabbard known as the Khyber knife or sword used by the tribesman of the Khyber Pass. Carved horn handle with hefty tang and connection to the large blade. Single edge blade with very heavy spine and tripled engraved thin lines to the top as fuller. Scabbard mounted in embossed copper or brass panels with floral motifs and black highlighted backgrounds. Leather wrapped to remainder of the scabbard with a checked stitched leather grip to the top section. Size 32” L, weight 1035g Ex-Southern California Collection
