Miniature Moro Pistol Lantaka, 17th-18th c. - Philippines Archipelagos, Moro peoples 17th-18th century. Miniature lantaka cannon. Fine miniature lantaka with trunnions and a wide flared muzzle. The bore and ignition both with signs of wear and use. Beautifully patinated bronze surface with a hollowed rear opening for a wood shaft to mount. The cannon would have been used with a portable mount and aimed with the use of the now absent wood shaft. Some variations of lantaka and rentaka were known to be so small they resembled pistol type weapons used and carried in the belt of Moro warriors until the 19th century.
