Early European Half-Basket Cavalry Broad Sword, 17th c. - Early European probably English influenced half-basket cavalry broadsword, 17th century. Straight single-edged blade with wide shallow fuller and above thin grooved fuller. Guard a half basket with one downturned quillion and openwork heart form lower section. Four swept bars attached to a fitted pommel that continues down the spine of the grip. Leather wrapped grip in black. Hand peened over.
