Early Inlaid Nepalese Kora, 17th C. - South Asia, Himalayas, Nepal, early example of a Kora with characteristic (elephant ear) blade inlaid to it's forward section with four brass inset circular decorations, stippled and inlaid to the ricasso and back in an intricate and innumerable group of red inlaid squares and triangles surrounded by geometric patterns with faint signs of worn etching to remainder of blade. The top of the blade is wrapped with a brass fitting, circular iron crossguard and a red felt with twine grip between another circular iron disc below the pommel. Pommel pierced to its base and of a turned series of circular shapes.
