Japanese Katana & Scabbard, Shinshinto Period 1781-1876 - Single edge curved blade. Tsuba in solid bronze with a carved scene of a scene view with gold highlights to the long grass. Gilt copper habaki. Ray skin wrapped grip absent cotton wrapping over. Red lacquer over wood scabbard. Size 42” L, Blade 28 1/4” L Condition: Worn overall with blade in need of polish. Typical cracking and wear to scabbard and other components.
