Japanese Gilt Petty Officers Sword & Scabbard - Finely gilt Japanese petty officers sword with scabbard and original tassel knot. Well cast handle in gilt bronze with most of its finish. Faux ray skin grip with gilt twisted brass wire over. Tassel knot is original with most of the string intact. Scabbard is also finely gilt with cast brass mounts. Single edge blade with fuller to the upper section. Hindged clam shell guard moves to lock scabbard in place. Size 31 1/2” L, blade 24” L Ex-Southern California estate Condition: Very good condition and gilt finish
