Philippines Matulis Sword & Scabbard, circa 1800s - Philippines Matulis sword and scabbard, Katipunan-Era or late 1800s. Handle in carabao horn with numerous brass applied stars, dots, and panels affixed over carved decoration. Guard with a loss to one quillion and other upturned. Straight lower edge and curved top side of blade with loss to tip of forward section. Scabbard fabric with blonde stitching apparently original. Size 24 1/4” L, blade 18” L, thickest part of spine 3/10” W, guard a little loose Ex-Southern California Moro Collection Condition: loss and wear overall commensurate with age and use
