Early Argentinian Gaucho Sword & Scabbard - Rare and unusual Gaucho style short sword probably 19th century. Handle in all brass with single flat bar guard over the grip in faux molded twist brass and round pommel. The straight guard with curls at either end. Chappes with a helmeted warrior to one side with Crossed Navy anchors reverse. Single edged straight blade with fuller to the top section. Scabbard with impressive Argentinian style gaucho mounts in embossed silver or alloy and gold gilding. Size 22 1/8” L, Blade 17 3/8” L Ex-Southern California Collection
