African Fon or Dahome Iron Cap, circa 1940s - Fashioned openwork crown, made by skilled blacksmith, forged by bending flattened iron straps into the hemispherical form. The top is adorned with alternating human heads and turtles in quadrants. Loop holes and dangers atop and at sides. Size 8” W x 6 1/2” H, 14” H on included custom stand ex-private Texas, USA collection. Condition: Wear and patina throughout commensurate with age.
