US Model 1812 Cavalry Saber & Scabbard by Starr - U.S. Model 1812 contract cavalry saber and scabbard. Single edged curved and clipped point blade for slashing and thrusting. Firm robust hilt with a reverse 'P' shaped knuckle bow with an iron grip. Iron scabbard with two suspension loops to one side. Starr inscription to ricasso with some loss. Scabbard appears to have blocked a shot. Size 39 3/4” L, blade 33 1/2” L Condition: Pitting and wear commensurate with age and use. Hole to scabbard from old shot.
