Moro Barong Sword with Scabbard - Sulu Archipelago or Mindanao, Philippines, circa 1900's. Fine example of Filipino blacksmithing and craftmanship, Moro barong sword with wood and rattan wrapped scabbard. Stylized kakatua wood carved pommel with a silver sleeve at the base of the hilt. Broad leaf shaped blade in a slightly convex edge with proper weight-forward balance. Size 28”, blade 17” Condition: Minor losses to rattan wrapping on scabbard, patina to the blade with stable fissures to the handle. Repair to the hilt with dents to the sleeve as shown.
