Pre-Columbian Peruvian Bronze Ceremonial Knife - Pre-Columbian, probably Peru, circa 500 BCE - 500 CE. Cast copper alloy ceremonial knife of unusual anchor-like form, the broad crescentic blade rising to a tapering central shaft surmounted by a small standing anthropomorphic figure. The surface is covered in an attractive green patina with areas of earthen accretion and age-related roughness throughout, consistent with long burial. Mounted on a later custom stand. Height with stand 6 1/4 in.; width 4 1/2 in.
