Chinese Carved Stone Seals with Fitted Wood Case, 20th C. - Pair of Chinese Carved Stone Seals with Fitted Wood CaseChina, late Qing to Republic period, late 19th to early 20th century. A pair of small Chinese square seals carved agate like stone in a fitted dark wood case. Each seal is engraved with Chinese characters on the sides and carved seal script to the underside, with remnants of red cinnabar seal paste visible in the recessed bases. The fitted case includes a shaped tray and removable cover for storage and display. Measurements: 3.5” W overall. Materials: Translucent carved stone, cinnabar seal paste residue, wood case. Condition: Light surface wear, minor scratches, and residue throughout. Red paste remains in the carved seal bases, with general wear to the fitted wood case.
