Mies Van Der Rohe Tugendhat Chairs for Knoll - (2) black leather chairs with stainless steel bases. These Tugendhat chairs (model number MR70) were designed by Ludwig Mies Van Der Rohe.in collaboration with Lily Reich 1929-1930. All upholstery was replaced at great expense to exacting detail of the original upholstery. Provenance: Local estate Allentown, PA . In the same family since new. Consignor states her brother bought them new in about 1968 at Knoll in East Greenville, PA. He passed away in 1969. She had them shipped to her sister in California in 1970. They were stored after use in California in the attic. They were shipped back to PA in 2015. She had the upholstery done then by David Erbe who holds the patents on them. He previously worked for Knoll approximately 32 high, 24 wide
