Antique Chinese Blue and White Lidded Vases - Important pair of Chinese Blue and White Lidded Porcelain Vases with Figural Scenes and Applied Handles. A matched pair of Chinese porcelain vases with fitted covers, decorated primarily in underglaze blue with additional enamel and gilt accents. Each vase features a baluster-form body rising from a square foot to a faceted neck, fitted with scrolling applied handles and topped with a domed lid surmounted by a small finial.The main panels on the bodies depict finely painted figural scenes set within landscape settings, showing groups of figures gathered outdoors near water and trees. Smaller landscape panels appear on the necks, framed by decorative borders. The blue-and-white decoration is complemented by iron red, gilt highlights, and patterned ground textures, adding depth and contrast to the overall design.Condition appears consistent with age, showing light surface wear, minor gilt loss, and small imperfections typical of porcelain of this type.
