Civil War Union Model 1857 Cartridge Box - Made by Sterling & Co St Louis. Both buckles are on the bottom. Letters straps on the back are there. Smaller leather flap needs to be reattached. Leather shows crackling and wear. US union brass plate is being held on with a nail. Provenance: Acquired from a single owner private estate collection originating in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania. The collection was carefully stored in Slatington, Pennsylvania for approximately five years prior to being consigned to the auction house.
