Blue Decorated Stoneware Ovoid Jug - No markings from what I see. Handle looks like it was painted brown. Some discoloration in areas. Below and slightly left of the decoration is a hairline crack about inches long. Left of the crack is 2 chips in the side that were filled in with red paint. Some chips on the bottom edge. 10 inches tall. Provenance: Acquired from a single owner private estate collection originating in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania. The collection was carefully stored in Slatington, Pennsylvania for approximately five years prior to being consigned to the auction house. The consignor noted that the collection had long-standing ties to the Gettysburg region, reflecting a deep appreciation for historical preservation and Americana.
