About the Artist: George Rodrigue (1944–2013) was an American artist from Louisiana best known for his iconic “Blue Dog” series. Originally focused on Cajun culture and regional landscapes, Rodrigue developed the Blue Dog motif in the 1990s, inspired by the Cajun legend of the loup-garou. His work combines bold color, pop art influences, and Southern folklore, making his imagery instantly recognizable. Rodrigue maintained studios in Lafayette and New Orleans.
