Limited edition of 1850 numbered copies. This facsimile edition follows the text of the illustrated edition first published in 1868 by Smith, Elder, and Company. The present edition includes color reproductions of the eight paintings from Queen Victoria�s collection (included as engravings in the original edition) and additional colour plates, also chosen from paintings in Queen Victoria�s collection. 9-1/4 x 11-1/2 X 1-1/2�, red cloth over thick beveled boards richly decorated in black and gilt, all edges gilt xxvi, 205pp, appendix, frontispiece engraving of Balmoral Forest by F. Bacon from a Pastel by Sir Edwin Lanseer, 5 monochrome illustrations, 19 color plates, 69 vignettes engraved on wood by James D. Cooper. Very fine in publisher�s clamshell box with gilt crest front board. A beautiful production.�
