A Late 19th Century Kazak Geometric Tribal Rug - A late 19th Century Kazak geometric tribal rug, hand-knotted pile, likely of wool. The rug exhibits a traditional geometric design characteristic of Caucasian styles. The central field is a vibrant terracotta/burnt orange, featuring prominent angular medallions and stylized motifs in hues of light blue, dark blue, white, green, and yellow. This central design is framed by multi-banded borders incorporating repeating geometric patterns, including a section in pink with small cross-like motifs. Visible white fringes adorn the ends of the rug. A small white tag displaying the number ”87” is affixed to the bottom right corner.
