The piece is crafted from oak, exhibiting a prominent grain, and displays robust Jacobean Revival or Arts & Crafts stylistic elements, including deeply carved accents and fielded panels. A circular enamelled badge, depicting a white rose with green leaves on a dark background, recognizable as the White Rose of York, is present on the upper right side.
