Clark's Anchor, Cantilever Embroidery Floss Cabinet, Stained Hardwood and Glass, c. 1920s-1950s - This original retail counter-top display unit was produced for Clark's Anchor, a brand associated with J. & P. Coats. The cabinet is constructed from a stained hardwood featuring a hinged glass lid and metal cantilever hardware. The mechanical design allows the three tiered sections to swing outward simultaneously, providing easy access to the internal compartments organised for embroidery skeins. The front faces feature gold-leaf style serif typography reading CLARK'S ANCHOR and STRANDED COTTON FOR EMBROIDERY. This piece is a classic example of early-to-mid 20th-century retail merchandising. Dimensions: Approximately 17-18 inches in width.
