A Chinese Famille Rose Celadon-Glazed Porcelain Plate, 19th Century - A large Chinese export porcelain plate featuring a pale celadon-green glazed ground, richly decorated in overglaze polychrome enamels from the famille rose palette. The interior composition depicts a central long-tailed bird and various butterflies amongst auspicious fruiting branches, including peaches and pomegranates, interspersed with floral sprays and ribbon-bound scrolls. The reverse features a recessed white-glazed centre bearing a four-character seal mark in underglaze blue. This style of decoration is characteristic of the late Qing Dynasty, often produced for the Western market. Diameter: approximately 30 cm.
