Mid-Century Modern Blonde Beech and Elm Windsor High-Back Armchair by Ercol - This armchair, dating from the Mid-Century Modern period circa 1960, is a classic example of the Windsor range designed by Lucian Ercolani for Ercol. The piece is constructed from solid wood, featuring a thick elm seat and a beech frame. The design showcases Ercol's signature steam-bent wood techniques, seen in the rounded high-back rail and the curved arms. The structure is supported by vertical spindles and stands on four tapered, splayed legs secured with traditional spindle joinery. The chair retains its original natural blonde finish, which highlights the contrasting grain patterns of the beech and elm. It is fitted with removable, padded seat and back cushions upholstered in a dark green floral patterned fabric. While no maker's stamp or label is visible, the construction and silhouette are characteristic of the Ercol Windsor lounge series. A small inventory tag is present on the upper back rail. 103cm H x 71cm W x 80cm D.
