John Speed, Leicester both Countye and Citie described, Early Edition, c.1611 - John Speed, Leicester both Countye and Citie described, the Honourable Families that have had titles of Earls thereof, likely published in The Theatre of the Empire of Great Britaine, circa 1611. This hand-coloured engraved old map of Leicester features a detailed inset town plan, an ornate title cartouche, and various heraldic shields representing the noble families of the county. The piece is presented in a dark-stained wooden frame and glazed. Provenance includes an auction house label from Sheldy's Auctioneers, designated as Lot 90. Frame dimensions measure approximately 21.5 inches in width.
