A 20th Century Continental Style Marquetry Inlaid Walnut Bombe Bureau - A 20th-century reproduction bureau in the Continental style, featuring a bombe form with bulging sides and drawer fronts. The piece is constructed with walnut veneers and decorated with floral and foliate marquetry inlay to the fall-front, top, sides, and drawer fronts. The fall-front opens to reveal a fitted interior containing two small central drawers and four shaped pigeonhole compartments. The interior writing surface features a black inset. Below the bureau top are three long, graduated drawers with serpentine fronts. The bureau is fitted with decorative cast metal handles and a matching escutcheon on the fall-front in the Rococo style. The piece is raised on four short cabriole legs with carved detail at the knees and feet. No maker's marks or manufacturer labels are present.
