A Large Rococo Revival Giltwood and Composition Wall Mirror - A large rectangular wall mirror in the Rococo Revival style, dating from the late 19th to early 20th century. The frame is constructed from giltwood and composition with a bright gilded finish. The ornamentation consists of a deep, high-relief design featuring an inner border of continuous scrolling foliage and an outer border of ornate C-scrolls and acanthus leaves. The outer scrolls include pierced openwork detailing. The rectangular mirror plate is housed within the frame. A small white auction lot label is affixed to the right-hand side of the glass. No maker's marks or signatures are present on the front of the item. Width: approximately 58 cm.
