A Modern Pine Blanket Chest with Metal Strapping - A storage trunk of contemporary manufacture, constructed from pine planks with a light honey-toned finish and prominent natural knots. The exterior features dark grey metal strapping to the vertical corners and the upper and lower edges. The lid is reinforced on the underside with two vertical wooden battens secured by modern screws. Hardware consists of two brass-toned butt hinges and a single brass-toned lid stay arm to the right side. The interior is lined with a white material. A faint black maker's mark is located on the underside of the lid, depicting two stylized evergreen trees with illegible printed characters below.
