A Victorian style carved mahogany and leather upholstered side chair - A single mahogany side chair in the late Victorian style. The chair features a decoratively carved crest rail with scrolled and foliate motifs. Both the rectangular backrest and the seat are upholstered in a dark brown leather or leather substitute, which is secured to the frame with a border of brass-headed upholstery tacks. The chair is supported by turned front legs that terminate in brass casters, and slightly splayed rear legs of rectangular section. A small modern white paper inventory tag marked 9751 is adhered to the top left of the back frame. No maker's marks or manufacturer labels are visible.
