An Oak Dish Top Joint Stool with Carved Mouse mousey Thompson - An oak joint stool featuring a rectangular top with a dish-curved profile and moulded edges. The construction consists of four legs with octagonal-section centres and square-blocked terminals, joined by four rectangular-section perimeter stretchers set near the base. A small mouse is carved in high relief on the outer face of one leg; this animal device is not legible as a name. A white rectangular adhesive label is affixed to the upper square block of the same leg, printed with the characters 12370. The timber is finished in a medium-brown tone that highlights the natural grain and medullary rays of the oak.
