A Framed Chinese Embroidered Silk Dragon Robe Panel, Qing Dynasty - A framed Chinese silk embroidery panel, identified as a fragment from a dragon robe (longpao) dating to the late Qing dynasty. The piece is worked on a teal-coloured silk ground and features five-clawed imperial dragons couched in metallic gold-wrapped thread. The dragons are surrounded by polychrome silk-embroidered cloud scrolls, bats, and other auspicious motifs. The lower edge of the panel displays a traditional lishui 'standing water' and wave border composed of diagonal stripes in shades of blue, green, and gold. A rectangular inset of dark-coloured silk is positioned on the upper left side, appearing to be a part of the original garment construction or a later modification. The textile is mounted onto a purple silk backing and is housed within a dark-stained wooden frame with a gilded inner slip. No maker marks, signatures, or inscriptions are visible on the fragment or the frame.
