A Collection of Lidded Stoneware Jugs and Pitchers circa 1900 - A collection of stoneware jugs and pitchers of various forms, predominantly featuring brown salt-glazed finishes. Several examples are decorated with a dark brown glaze and a central horizontal green band bordered by white stripes. The assortment also includes a mottled brown glaze jug and a globular vessel with horizontal ochre and brown banding. One smaller jug is relief-moulded with vertical ribbing under an ochre glaze. Each vessel is fitted with a hinged metal lid, likely pewter, with various thumbpiece designs. A white rectangular adhesive label is adhered to the side of one small banded jug, bearing the handwritten characters 12851. No manufacturer names or other marks are legible on the visible exterior surfaces.
