Two English Bone China Figurines by Royal Doulton and Coalport - A pair of English bone china figurines comprising one Royal Doulton and one Coalport piece. The Royal Doulton figurine, titled Belle (HN 3703), is the Figure of the Year for 1996 and was modelled by Valerie Annand. It depicts a woman in a voluminous tiered dress of yellow and deep red, holding a white fan in her right hand. The underside features a green printed backstamp comprising a lion and crown logo above the text ROYAL DOULTON ENGLAND, MADE IN ENGLAND, Royal Doulton, FIGURE OF THE YEAR 1996, Belle, HN 3703, and Modelled by followed by the script signature of Valerie Annand, and © 1995 ROYAL DOULTON. An orange circular adhesive label and a small hand-painted blue mark are also visible on the base. The front of the skirt bears a rectangular white adhesive inventory label reading 12868 D. The Coalport figurine depicts a woman in a flowing pale green and cream dress. The base features a blue printed floral wreath mark containing the text COALPORT, BONE CHINA, MADE IN ENGLAND, Modelled and Decorated by hand, and 11/93, above the script signature Jennifer. A yellow circular adhesive label is also present on the underside.
