An English Burr Walnut Veneered Mantel Clock in the Bracket Style - A mantel clock of English manufacture, featuring a figured burr walnut veneered case designed in the 18th-century bracket style. The brass-toned dial face is adorned with four cast metal spandrels at the corners depicting cherub heads and foliate scrolls. A silvered chapter ring displays black Roman numeral hour markers and an outer minute track. Within the arch of the dial is a circular silvered medallion inscribed with the Latin phrase Tempus Fugit in a decorative script. The clock is fitted with two black serpentine hands and a clear glass front. The bottom of the dial ring is marked with the printed text MADE IN ENGLAND. The case includes a brass-toned swing carrying handle on the left side and rests on bun feet. A white rectangular adhesive label is affixed to the upper left corner of the case marked with the handwritten characters 12873 over D. A separate circular white price sticker reading £20.00 is attached to the left side of the case.
