A Group of West German Matte Glazed Ceramic Figurines and a Handbell - A group of four West German ceramic items comprising three figurines and a handbell, each decorated in a matte polychrome glaze. The handbell is relief-moulded with a figure of a young girl seated in a meadow with a basket. The figurines depict a boy in a brown jacket and hat playing a pipe, a boy in traditional lederhosen holding a large wicker basket, and a girl perched upon the branch of a flowering tree. All pieces are finished in a muted palette of earth tones including ochre, brown, and dusty blue. The underside of the bases features several marks. One base is printed with West Germany alongside a blue mark resembling a stylized V or A with an adjacent dot. Another base displays a printed blue mark consisting of a large V containing a stylized bee. A rectangular white paper adhesive label is affixed to the front of the bell reading 12870.
