A Pair of Antique Nickel-Plated Carbide Bicycle Lamps including one by Powell & Hanmer Ltd - A pair of antique nickel-plated carbide bicycle lamps, likely dating from the early 20th century. The lamps are constructed from nickel-plated metal, featuring cylindrical bodies with lower fuel reservoirs and large circular glass lenses set within flared reflectors. One lamp is identified by an embossed mark on its central collar reading POWELL & HANMER LTD and is topped with a tiered, vented chimney cap. The second lamp includes a side-mounted green-tinted jewel lens. This second lamp has a white rectangular adhesive paper sticker applied to the front of the lower reservoir bearing the handwritten number 12870. Both lamps are fitted with integrated mounting brackets at the rear.
