A vintage Salter No. 235 circular milk spring balance scale - An English red-painted metal circular milk scale, or spring balance. The dial face is printed with two concentric measurement scales: an outer scale graduated in pints from 0 to 38, and an inner scale graduated in pounds from 0 to 50. The centre of the dial bears the printed manufacturer name SALTER and further text within a cartouche reading MADE IN ENGLAND TO WEIGH MILK SPRING BALANCE No. 235. The instrument is housed in a red-painted circular metal casing, featuring a suspension loop at the top and a knurled adjustment knob on the left side. A small white rectangular adhesive label is affixed to the right side of the rim with the handwritten number 12587.
