A Salter's Brass-Faced Circular Spring Balance Scale - An English Salter's brass-faced circular spring balance scale. The instrument consists of a rectangular brass faceplate with decorative shaped terminals, featuring two circular dials with iron pointers. The primary central dial is graduated from 0 to 12, and a smaller secondary dial is positioned to the left. The brass plate is engraved on the left side with a vertical inscription reading SALTERS SPRING BALANCE. The right side is engraved MADE IN ENGLAND, followed by the text EACH 10 LB IS MARKED ON THE SLIDE and THERE ARE 10 SECTIONS OF 1 LB ON THE CIRCLE. The word PATENT is engraved on the far right ornate edge. A large, heavy-duty rusted iron S-hook mechanism is attached to the centre. A white adhesive rectangular label with the hand-written digits 12851 is applied to the lower right of the faceplate.
