A British WWII War Department Petrol Can Dated 1940 - A vintage British military metal fuel can of rectangular form, finished in red paint. The vessel features a fixed top handle and a circular brass screw-down filler cap. The upper surface is embossed with the words PETROL and INFLAMMABLE. Hand-painted in green on the shoulder is a mark comprising the letter W, a broad arrow symbol, and the letter D, positioned above the date 1940. A white adhesive lot sticker printed with the number 12871 is attached to the handle.
