Large Mid-20th Century Copper and Brass Starboard Ship's Lantern by Meteorite - A large mid-20th-century British nautical starboard navigation lantern manufactured by Meteorite. The lantern is constructed from sheet copper with brass fittings and features a thick clear glass Fresnel lens designed to direct and magnify the light beam. A rectangular brass plaque is riveted to the upper casing and carries the inscription METEORITE, serial number 59683, and PATENT No 546575. The word STARBOARD is embossed in an arch on the conical shoulder above the plaque. The structure includes a tiered chimney topped with a substantial brass swing handle. The various sections are secured with rivets and solder.
