A 9ct gold and black grosgrain ribbon watch fob with engraved sliders dated 1919 - An early 20th-century watch fob, of a type traditionally associated with mourning jewellery, featuring a wide black ribbed grosgrain ribbon with 9ct yellow gold mounts. The ribbon is secured at each end by decorative scrolling openwork gold terminals. One terminal is attached to a short curb-link chain leading to a gold T-bar. The opposite end is fitted with a double-swivel clasp assembly. The assembly includes two sliding gold mounts with scalloped edges, each decorated with bright-cut engraved scroll and foliate patterns. One slider bears the engraved dedication From Will & Lou, while the second is engraved To Dan 16.3.19. Marks for 9ct gold are visible on both decorative sliders and the swivel clasp.
