A Mid-20th Century Indian Carved Wood and Brass Carving Set - This Indian export carving set dates from the mid-20th century and includes a carving knife and a two-pronged fork. Both pieces are designed with dark hardwood handles, likely rosewood or sheesham, which are decorated with hand-carved foliate and floral motifs. The handles are complemented by brass collars and crossguards with ball-end terminals. The set is stored in a conjoined twin wooden scabbard in a V-shaped configuration, featuring matching carved decoration and brass-clad tips. Metal spring clips are mounted on the scabbard to secure the knife and fork. On the reverse, the scabbard is equipped with a hinged wooden kickstand for upright display. The steel blade of the knife is stamped with the mark INDIA. Knife blade length: approximately 20 cm.
