Edwardian Neoclassical Mahogany and Brass Table Gong - An antique table gong featuring a mahogany frame in the neoclassical taste. The architectural structure comprises a triangular pediment top supported by two fluted columns, mounted on a tiered rectangular plinth base. Centrally suspended from a brass hook is a large, cylindrical brass tubular bell. The set includes a matching turned wood striker with a rounded head and an integrated brass hook for hanging on the frame. The mahogany exhibits a dark stain with a visible straight grain. The brass cylinder is of heavy gauge construction with flat end-caps. No maker's marks or inscriptions are visible on the object.
