An Assortment of French Foreign Legion Militaria, Insignia, and Reference Literature - This collection comprises various items associated with the French Foreign Legion (Légion Étrangère), primarily dating from the late 20th century. The group features insignia from multiple units, including a large bronze-toned commemorative medallion for the 1er Régiment Étranger de Cavalerie (1er REC) depicting a mounted trooper, and a corresponding oval embroidered patch inscribed with Honneur, 1831, and Florelita. The 13e Demi-Brigade de Légion Étrangère (13e DBLE) is represented by a shield-shaped patch featuring playing card suits and the motto Ne Pas Subir. Headgear includes a traditional green wool beret (béret vert) with paratrooper insignia and a dark blue garrison-style cap with a black leather chin strap and brass buttons. Accoutrements consist of a red and green braided fourragère with a metal whistle, a tan webbing belt with a silver-tone slide buckle, and wool shoulder boards with green rank chevrons. The lot is accompanied by a copy of the 1984 reference book The French Foreign Legion by John Robert Young and a tan booklet with a pen-and-ink illustration of a Legionnaire. Additional items include a Force d'Action Rapide (FAR) tricolour sticker, a Commando bar badge, a diamond-shaped unit fob with the number 4, various rank slides, and two contemporary paracord bracelets in regimental colours.
