The panels are designed as a mirrored pair, with the birds in one composition facing right and the other facing left. The needlework is executed in white, cream, and red silk threads against a dark fabric ground. Various embroidery techniques are employed to create texture within the plumage and foliage. Each panel is housed under glass in a matching dark-stained wooden frame featuring a beaded inner gilt border. A small adhesive label marked M1085R is present on the top corner of one frame.
