19th Century English Regency Antique Traveling Lap Writing Desk - This is a remarkable writing desk remaining in superb original condition throughout. The veneers are chosen carefully for their chaotic and very pleasing swirling grains, these applied in such a way that they flow from the upper to the lower portion seamlessly.Writing slopes were very popular during the Georgian and Victorian eras because of their compact design and portability. In addition to the slanted writing surface, they contained compartments for holding an ink pot, sealing wax, a knife, and writing implements such as a quill pen and pencils.
