WW2 Original Soviet Russian Gold ORDER of GREAT PATRIOTIC WAR 1st cl.#225500, Screwback - WW2 Original Soviet Russian ORDER of GREAT PATRIOTIC WAR 1st cl.#225500 with 14 K Gold First Class. Type 2. Screwback fastening. Variant 1, Sub-variant 1 The badge consists of three parts (similar to Type 1). A fourth component may be considered the round screwback nut, 33 mm in diameter, without inscriptions. The opening in the gold radiant star is larger in diameter compared to Type 1 and is not solid. The aperture is divided into equal segments by three gold bridges that meet in the center around the threaded screw post. The gold and silver stars are fastened together by a small hexagonal nut located at the base of the screw. Two small rivets on the reverse of the enamel star secure the hammer and sickle device. The hallmark ”MONETNYJ DVOR” is located on the radiant star above the threaded post (at the 12 o’clock position). The hallmark is applied by punch and arranged horizontally. The serial number is stamped on the gold star below the threaded post (at the 6 o’clock position). The number is engraved by hand with a burin and positioned horizontally. Variant 1 The hallmark ”MONETNYJ DVOR” is arranged in a single line. The gold bridges within the central aperture of the reverse are positioned at approximately the 2, 6, and 10 o’clock positions. Depending on the thickness of the bridges of the radiant star, the following sub-varieties of Variant 1 can be distinguished. Sub-variant 2. The bridges on the reverse of the radiant star are thick.
