WWII Soviet Russian Silver Order of the Red Banner of Labor, Type 3, Variation 6 with Mint Mark #80166 - Soviet Russian Order of the Red Banner of Labor, Type 3, Variation 6 with Mint Mark #80166 By the Decree of 19 June 1943, a new order of wear was established: star-shaped orders were to be worn on screw posts on the right side of the chest, while oval or round orders were to be worn on the left side on five-sided suspension mounts covered with the order’s ribbon. At the same time, due to the sharp increase in the number of Soviet decorations and awards, ribbon bars were introduced for wear in place of full orders. Accordingly, the third type of the Order of the Red Banner of Labour was issued from 19 June 1943 until the early 1950s. The material (silver) and the general appearance of the obverse remained largely unchanged compared to Type 2. However, significant structural differences appeared. The badge now consisted of three main parts: The red enamel banner with an oak-leaf wreath and the gilded wheat sheaves at the bottom were no longer separate elements; they became part of the cogwheel forming the main body of the order. The only applied elements were the central hammer and sickle and the small red enamel star at the lower part of the badge. The five-sided suspension mount covered with the ribbon may be considered a separate component. It was attached by a connecting ring to the loop located at the top of the badge. Reverse characteristics Three rivets are present: Two centrally located horizontally at the 3 and 9 o’clock positions (securing the hammer and sickle). One at the lower edge at the 6 o’clock position (securing the small red enamel star). The hallmark ”MONETNYJ DVOR” is applied in stamped letters arranged in two lines. The serial number is engraved by hand with a burin and positioned horizontally slightly above the lower rivet (at the 6 o’clock position). Variation 6 - The mint mark ”MONETNYJ DVOR” is positioned in the center of the reverse. Both words of the hallmark are straight, without curvature, and applied with a single punch. Length of the word ”MONETNYJ ”: approximately 8.7 mm Total height of the two-line hallmark: 3.2 mm. The serial number is engraved by hand with a burin.
