The work is signed and dated lower left front in black pigment. George Carlson is a very accomplished and widely recognized artist of the American West. He first gained prominence for his bronze sculptures, particularly those depicting Native American subjects. He later transitioned to painting, creating works that emphasize the interplay of light and atmosphere, like the work up for bid here. Canvas measures 14 x 10.25 with a framed size of 20.5 x 16.75 inches.
