FERNAND LEGER (1881-1955) GOUACHE ON PAPER DATED 1948 - Fernand (Joseph Henri) Leger (1881-1955) Plantes et fleurs 1948 The bold presentation of 'Plants and Flowers' is signed and dated lower right front and again verso with the date of 1948 near an inscription of the title. The back side of the sheet is inscribed in pencil declaring the gouache an original of Fernand Leger as stated by the artist in 1954 and stamped EDITIONS des GAULES Louis GROSCLAUDE near a pencil signature. This work is accompanied by a letter from the Comite Leger and will be included in the catalog raisonne. Sight size measures 24 x 20.5 with a framed size of 29 x 25.5 inches. Provenance: A gift form the artist to the late Belgian writer Georges Simenon, and descended through his family.
